Crunch Time

We are getting down to the wire and our first of the year assembly is just around the corner.  Just a few things that are coming up that you need to start preparing for...

We will be having a long practice on Monday, August 5th from 7 until 9:00 AM.  After this practice, I will be assigning JV and Varsity teams.  JV and Varsity will cheer separately throughout volleyball season.  To prepare for Mondays practice, you should know all camp cheers perfectly.  We have been spending all summer on the eleven cheers from camp.  Mondays practice will be spent learning the remaining cheers on our cheer list.

We will be having another long practice on Monday, August 12 from 7 until 9:00 AM.  Our official game day evaluations will be held this day.  If you come unprepared, you will sit out of active sideline until September 16, when you will have an opportunity to be evaluated again.  In order to officially pass game day evaluations you must successfully check off the following:

  • Know cheers by name without having to review motion in lineup
  • Smile and look up into the crowd
  • Be able to execute the motions without mistakes
  • Hit each motion sharply
  • Your voice must be heard individually (no more quiet voices)
  • Hold the last motion and wait for the ready 1-2 slap

PRACTICE!  PRACTICE!  PRACTICE!  We can no longer just come to practice and expect to catch up on the material that you may have missed the week or two prior.  You need to come prepared.  You need to be self-motivated and be your best self.  If everyone does that, we will be an amazing team.  But, everyone has to do their part.
