Our first competition will be Saturday, February 2, at Highland High School. All cheerleaders need to be there at 7:00AM. The competition will begin bright and early at 7:30. It is CRUCIAL to be on time for these competitions.
Moms, here's your part! Competition hair and makeup!
H A I R
Slight bang poof.
Hair pulled half up into an extremely high pony.
The remainder of the hair should be pulled into a second pony beneath the first.
Just like the picture below, except the top pony should be much higher and visible from the front.

Hair should be SUPER curly.
We will not be wearing our hair half up like this picture, but the curls should be like this:

One way of getting good curls is by using curlers like these:
You can get these kind of curlers from the Bow-tique here in town for $14. The Bow-tique is located behind Galaxy Computers off of Yellowstone in a little barber shop of sorts. They are also available at Sally's. Click here to be taken to Sally's website so you know what to ask for when you go to buy them.
Put a little mousse onto slightly damp hair before putting in your curlers, sleep with them in, and you have awesome curls the following morning. Hairspray them up and they last quite a while. I use these in my daughter's hair all the time. They're amazing. If you don't want to get these curlers, you definitely don't have to. Just as long as the ponytail has some nice curls that are not going to fall out throughout the day.

HAIRSPRAY HAIRSPRAY HAIRSPRAY!
I'm am not a big hairspray girl, but for competition, it is a must.
Your hair should feel glued in place. We do not want to lose any ponytails or bows during our routine. Your top ponytail should be very high so the bow and the top of your pony is visible from the front.

Competition makeup should be heavier than usual. You want the judges to be able to see your lips, lashes, and facial expression from where they sit.
This girl's makeup and hair is exactly what we're wanting. The makeup is still natural looking, but definitely visible. Black mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, lots of blush (and bronzer if you have it), eyebrows, and I will be bringing the lipstick.

I would like everyone to wear their hair and makeup competition ready to Saturday's practice so we can make sure we are all on the same page in advance, like a dress rehearsal. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call! Thank you everyone for all your help and hard work this month! We are almost there!
