MORE TO COME! These are just what you have learned thus far. If you want the camp music, bring a CD to practice with your name written on it with permanent marker. I'll burn it for you and get it to you before we break for July.
AT HOME CONDITIONING should be done every day:
1. Leg raises - 10 low, 10 high - to the front, to the side, to the back on both legs.
2. Hip flexer exercises (straddle out) - 25 on right, 25 on left, 25 center
3. Toe touch sit ups - 25 reps
4. Cherry pickers - 30, 20, 10
5. Ab outs - 20 seconds each, arms out, up, muscle, geenie, arms out, pump
6. Squats - 20 reps
Other exercises that will benefit you are heel raises, pushups, and jumping with a jumprope. Stretch every night before bed to help you gain the flexibility necessary to improve your jumps. If you have ankle weights, use them! Push yourself and be dedicated. I promise you if you put in the time and effort you will see progress. But, it's up to you!
We will be having game lineup evaluations the beginning of August. Those who have worked hard over the summer will earn the center position in cheer lines. So, work hard! I'll be looking for game readiness, sharpness, energy, facials, voice, and knowledge of the cheers learned over the summer. Tap into your best potential. All of you have it, but you have to work on your own outside of practice.
You girls are awesome! If you do these things, we will be off to a fantastic start once school begins!
